I have several friends who shop at Aldi's.  I have been skeptical in the past (forgive me :)) but last week I decided to check it out.  I was pleasantly surprised to find some good prices on produce.  While I will continue to shop at Giant Eagle and Walmart for most of my food using coupons, I will check out the prices on produce at Aldi's!

I looked up their ad online and these things jumped out at me:

Whole pineapple $1.69 each
Cantaloupe .99 each
Hamburger and hot dog buns .79 each

Aldi's does not accept coupons.  I did discover on the same shopping trip that Save-A-Lot DOES accept coupons now.

The Aldi stores here often have better AND cheaper produce than the bigger stores. I also find better prices on milk, eggs, and canned goods, and the quality is good. Oh, and their pancake syrup is better than any other store brand!
